This is a personal website and blog about free software and hardware. The purpose is to share both tutorials/articles/hacks as well as personal projects in order to show how easy and fun experimenting with technology can be.

Why "Toaster" ?

- Hacking with a toaster was the very firt idea I had as a kid, since then I've always somehow liked tosaters... - "Toasters" is a familiar word for the "cylons" in Battlestar Galactica TV series. A robot is nothing but a smart toaster.

A server-based tree diagram visualizer generating simple HTML lists out of a submitted string, displayed as a tree using CSS; The resource-saving PHP script uses nested arrays, which are optimum for creating trees with flexible child numbers (not only binary trees). The U3D tools aim to provide a way to read and render 3D data in the U3D (Universal 3D) format.

FR: Portail web de promotions des logiciels libres traduits en wallon, langue régionale de Wallonie (Belgique). Le portail se veut un outil de promotion pour l'usage de ces programmes, tous distribués sous des licences libres: deux distributions Linux (Mandriva, openSUSE) et de nombreux programmes parmi lesquels Firefox, KDE ou encore Gnome. Le but du projet est, en parallèle avec le travail officiel de traduction dont nous sommes les principaux contributeurs, de faire connaître l'existence de ces programmes traduits au grand public via un "annuaire" et des tutoriels. En effet, malgré que ces programmes soient traduits depuis longtemps, peu de gens le savent et donc les utilise. Il s'agit également d'un moyen pour amener des utilisateurs aux logiciels libres par un autre biais que d'habitude, à savoir la langue (aucun logiciel propriétaire n'existe en effet ans cette langue). Les articles seront placés en licence GFDL.

EN: Web portal to promote free softwares translated into Walloon, regional language from Wallonia (Belgium). The portal wants to be a tool for promotion for the usage of these programs, all distributed under free licences: two Linux distributions (Mandriva, openSUSE) and many other applications with amongst them Firefox, KDE or even Gnome. The aim of the project is, in parallel with the official tranlation work for what we are the main contributors, for the people to know that these localised programs exist witj the help of a list and descriptions of programs and tutorials. Despite these translated programs exist for a long time, no many people know it and so use it. It's also a way to bring more users to opensource softwares by another way than usal: the language (no closedsource software exists in that language). The articles shall under GFDL licenced published.
